Help finding a job
Find a job can be stressful. There are many services in Havering here to help you find the right job for you.
Havering Works
Havering Works is an innovative employment and skills service provided by London Borough of Havering. It offers free support for unemployed residents who are looking to start working, return to work or explore training
/ volunteering opportunities to enhance their skills to improve their work prospects.
Havering Works offers:
- One-to-one tailored support
- Support from a qualified Employment Specialist to help individuals develop a personalised vocational profile, these are tailored to help each client work towards achieving their goals
- Working closely with other specialist agencies and provision that offer additional and/or more specialist support
- Matching transferable skills and experience to job vacancies

Job search support, including but not limited to, CV building, Interview preparation and confidence building.
Get support
You or a referral partner should first complete the contact form.
Havering Works will the call you, match you to the appropriate programme or signpost you to more help if you are not eligible.
The DWP will then verify eligibility and Havering works will confirm and book an appointment with you.
Any providers who are making a referral must have the clients permission before submitting their details.

- Use a Health Adjustment Passport to support you to identify what help and changes are available to help you move into work or stay in a job.
- Twining Hestia Havering IPS Employment Support Service for people with severe mental illness.
Volunteering
Volunteering can help you build new skills and meet new people. The Havering Volunteer Centre can support you to find the right volunteering opportunity for you.
Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is a job with training. They are available for a wide range of job roles across many different industries. You can find apprenticeships on the government website.
Work experience & supported internships
Work experience can help you discover what job you would like.
