Mental health support for 0-5 year olds
Your child is growing and learning so much in the first 5 years and it is an ideal time to start supporting their wellbeing and mental health.
Children's Centres
Children’s centres in Havering are FREE to all families with a child aged under 5 years old who live in the borough.
If you are expecting a baby or have children aged 0-5 years, your local Children’s Centre can support you, give you advice and support you to connect with other local support services.
Children’s Centres can support you with:
- Baby massage sessions
- Baby Stay & Play sessions
- Stay, Play & Rhyme sessions
- Infant feeding support (link to infant feeding page)
- Butterflies support group for new parents who are experiencing low mood, depression and / or anxiety (link to perinatal mental health page)
- Being Dad programme
- Baby Group

NELFT Havering Health Visiting Service
The health visiting service provides a public health service to children, young people and their families with a focus on early intervention and prevention, as well as promoting physical and social wellbeing. We work with local communities, the whole family, and individual children in different settings e.g. homes, children's centres, schools and GP surgeries.

Children’s centres in Havering are FREE to all families with a child aged under five who live in the borough. If you are expecting a baby or have children aged 0-5 years, your local Children’s Centre is able to provide support, advice and access to services and activities delivered as part of the Children’s Centres activity programme.
