Discover Upminster Windmill, a beautifully restored historic landmark and community resource in the heart of Upminster.

Our Windmill & Gardens Open Days offer a unique opportunity to explore the windmill, its gardens, and our fully accessible visitor centre. Enjoy a warm welcome from our volunteers, learn about the mill’s fascinating history, and experience the restoration up close.

  • Windmill admission: Adults £6, Children £2 (minimum 100cm tall). Admission is by ticket.
  • Visitor centre, gardens, and grounds: Free entry. Dogs on leads are welcome. Refreshments available.
  • Garden Open Days: Special events throughout the year, including Easter Egg Hunts and seasonal activities.

Accessibility: Our visitor centre is fully accessible, with car access to the front door. Please note, access above the ground floor of the windmill is via steep and narrow stairs; visitors must be able to manage these unaided and wear closed-in footwear (trainers are ideal; no sandals, crocs, flip-flops, or high heels).

Group Visits & School Visits: We welcome group and educational visits. Please contact us to arrange a tailored experience for your group or school.

Talks: The Friends of Upminster Windmill offer talks about the mill and its restoration to external groups at their own locations.
