Havering Concert Orchestra Celebrating 60 Years of Havering
This year marks a special milestone: 60 years since Havering became a borough, and 60 years since our amateur community orchestra became the ‘Havering Concert Orchestra’ (though our roots go back to the 1930s).
For their 60th Anniversary Concert, they are revisiting Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, which was performed to mark their 50th Anniversary. The programme also features Bizet’s L’Arlésienne Suite – marking 150 years since his death – and Ravel’s enchanting Mother Goose Suite, celebrating 150 years since his birth.
