Have fun learning to play chess at Hornchurch Library. Playing chess can improve a child’s memory, concentration & problem solving.
It encourages foresight, increases self confidence and nurtures sportsmanship.
Our two dedicated volunteers are DBS checked and the session takes place in front of the Staff counter.
We have two sessions: 4pm-5pm is strictly for beginners. The later session at 5pm is for intermediate players.
Requirements:
SPACES ARE LIMITED. BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL Please call Hornchurch Library 01708 434903 for availability or to add your child’s name to the waiting list. A basic understanding of the chess pieces is desirable. The session lasts an hour. PARENTS ARE TO STAY FOR THE DURATION OF THE SESSION.
