Emergency help with money

If you need emergency support with money, there are support services that can help you in Havering.

Emergency Assistance Scheme

The Havering Emergency Assistance Scheme supports residents needing urgent financial help because of the cost of living crisis.

This means that if you receive welfare benefits, have a low income, or do not receive welfare benefits but have an emergency need, you may be eligible for a payment of £100.

Funded by the UK Government’s Household Support Fund.

Get support to pay for food

There are places across Havering that can support you if you are struggling to afford food, these include foodbanks and food pantries.

Visit our Foodbanks, free food, and low cost food page to find out more.

A market stall displays piles of fresh vegetables, including tomatoes, green peppers, eggplants, zucchinis, and red chili peppers, with bags of produce and a vendor in the background.
