Havering Concert Orchestra: Summer Concert – Dance Music and Carols

  • Arts, culture & creativity

The Orchestra will bring a touch of Christmas sparkle to Upminster on Sunday afternoon, 6th December, with a programme of ‘Dance Music and Carols’, featuring some of the best-loved dance music ever written alongside familiar Christmas favourites.

The programme includes Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite, taking the audience into the magical world of the Christmas ballet, and Borodin’s colourful and energetic Polovtsian Dances, with its powerful rhythms and memorable melodies. There will also be two of Johann Strauss II’s most famous works, The Blue Danube and the Emperor Waltz, bringing the grand waltzes of Vienna to Upminster.

There will also be a selection of carols and other Christmas favourites, with the opportunity for the audience to join in. This promises to be a concert for both regular concertgoers and families looking to begin their Christmas celebrations.
