DABD are offering free energy advice and support to residents in Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Havering.
The service covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Signing up for the Priority Services Register for additional support from energy providers
- Information about carbon monoxide and gas safety
Energy efficiency advice and tips to reduce household energy bills - Help understanding energy bills and comparing tariffs
- Guidance on reading gas and electricity meters, including what to do if a meter may be faulty
- Impartial advice on the pros and cons of Smart meters
- Referrals for debt advice and advice on setting up energy payment plans
- Checking eligibility for home insulation or boiler replacement grants
The team can support local residents with information, advice and signposting, giving talks to local groups, or holding drop-in sessions or information stands at local venues. In some cases, longer conversations are helpful, and they can offer one-to-one appointments at our offices, in residents’ homes, or via phone or video call.
